Description
Retezat Mountains are one of the most beautiful mountains of Romania. Vast of it's territory was included in 1935 in the first National Park established in Romania. From this reason in the past 80 years nature was well preserved.
Retezat mountains are home of 100 lakes out of which 60 are permanent, also home of wild animals (bears, wolfs, chamois) and may protected wild flowers including orchids.
One day tours starting from Timisoara is something that can be easily done in summer. For winter I recomend to plan a 2 day tour.
Also longer tours can be organized.
