   Wieliczka Salt Mine is located just 12 km (7,5 miles) from the city center of Kraków and is certainly one of the most offen visited places in Poland. This is the oldest salt mine in the world, which is operating with no interruption since the Middle Ages . Here you can find lots of underground caves, chambers and even a lakes. The total length of the mine is about 300km (186 miles) on 9 level, of which deepest reaches 327m (357 yards). You can see here how through the centuries people have perfected the art of mining.
