Explore this complex and beautiful network of caves, churches carved entirely out of the rock and narrow streets on foot to best experience this wonderful ancient town. During the walking tour which lasts approx. 2 hours, our professional guides will show you the 3 districts of Matera : Cività, the most fascinating part of the old town named “Sassi”: Sasso Barisano and the Sasso Caveoso . A VISITE IN A CAVE HOUSE IS INCLUDED! The visit will take you to discover the history of this town carved into the rock, where inhabitants still lived until the XX century.
