This royal residence and former administrative headquarters of the Jaipur State was established shortly after the city of Jaipur was founded. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who moved his court from Amber to Jaipur in 1727, oversaw the construction of the palace. Note: The City Palace entry ticket grants access to most sections of the complex; however, entry to the Chandra Mahal Palace (Blue Room) is not included and requires a separate ticket.
