Description
Discover Montmartre on this self-guided tour with special comments from a local storyteller who is proud to show you his neighbourhood. You will see some of the places where Amelie, the famous movie, was filmed. You will witness the local scene in the Place du Theatre, where many painters and portrait painters gathered to exhibit and paint their works in the open air. Montmartre was perhaps the cradle of Impressionism, starting in the 19th century, where many famous artists such as Monet, Dalí, Picasso, Van Gogh, Renoir, Degas and many others lived. You will pass by L'espace and discover the poetry of Aznavour and the place where the famous Edith Piaf once lived. Your narrator will tell you the story of Picasso and Bateau-Lavoir as you pass by the Atelier Picasso. The tour ends with the story of Vincent van Gogh as you see the house on Rue Lepic where he rented a room when he was an unsuccessful artist.
