Pedra do Sal è uno dei luoghi più belli della zona conosciuta come Little Africa. Questa culla della samba carioca è diventata un paradiso per chi ama mescolare la storia con la birra, la giovinezza, la samba e la vita notturna. Tutto questo si svolge di fronte a una grande roccia con una scala scolpita, Pedra do Sal, patrimonio elencato nel 1984. La scala dà accesso a Morro da Conceição. Questa zona di Porto Maravilha è chiamata Piccola Africa perché era un punto di vendita e scambio di schiavi e rifugio per quilombos. Lì veniva scaricato il sale dalle navi che attraccavano al porto, origine dell'incontro dei portuali sambisti.
