You will experience indescribable sensations in visiting one of the most suggestive natural monuments of Sardinia, you will find yourself in one of the wildest places on the island. Located between the municipalities of Urzulei and Orgosolo, it is about 1.5 km long, from the Cucutos point, it sinks for about 500 m.; on the bottom it narrows to reach in some places the minimum width of 4 - 5 m. These hard shapes make Gorropu a world pearl, an authentic masterpiece of nature and at the same time a precious treasure chest of biodiversity. It is the most spectacular canyon in Europe, as well as one of the deepest. Gorropu is a gorge of erosive origin, one and a half kilometers long, which marks the border between the Barbarian territory of Orgosolo and that of Ogliastra Urzulei. It has been shaped over time by the strength of the Flumineddu stream that flows on the bottom, fed by waters that cross the Supramonte, partly infiltrating underground tunnels, partly re-emerging from sources downstream of the gorge.

Un cuore ricco di meraviglie e stupore. Le parole chiave di questa nuova avventura saranno: esplorare, divertirsi e interagire con l’ambiente in famiglia! Andremo a ricercare i volti seducenti della gola carsica più profonda e più spettacolare d'Europa: quella di Gorropu. Situata tra i territori comunali di Urzulei e Orgosolo, è lunga circa 1,5 km, dalla punta Cucutos (m. 888), sprofonda per circa 500 m.; sul fondo si restringe sino a raggiungere in alcuni punti la larghezza minima di 4-5 m. Queste sue forme dure rendono Gorropu una perla mondiale, un autentico capolavoro della natura e allo stesso tempo un prezioso scrigno di biodiversità. Vivrete un luogo magico, culla di endemismi e fioriera di racconti. Gli anziani, ancora oggi, raccontano infatti di una spaventosa creatura che ha abitato quella gola fin dai tempi più remoti: “Sa mama ‘e Gorropu". Una creatura imponente che esigeva tributi e rispetto. Alcuni esseri dispettosi, al suo lascia passare, uscivano dalle grotte nascoste al suo interno durante le notti tempestose e.. Scopriamolo insieme lungo il cammino fra i segreti dei “drullios” e le atmosfere magiche di un luogo unico al mondo.
