Il vulcano Pacaya è uno dei vulcani più attivi e accessibili del Guatemala, situato a circa un'ora a sud di Città del Guatemala. Si eleva a oltre 2.500 metri ed è noto per frequenti colate di lava, bocche di vapore e attività di cenere vulcanica. I visitatori possono fare escursioni su campi di lava indurita e talvolta vedere lava incandescente, a seconda dell'attività corrente.
