Stop at: old cape point lighthouse, Cape Point Nature Reserve, Cape Point South Africa Walk or take an optional funicular (at own cost) up to Oldest Lighthouse for a 360-degree view of the national park. The old lighthouse was launched in 1860 only to be decommssioned 40 years and dozens of shipwrecks too late after studies proved that its high altitude posed a great danger to sailors around the cape as they couldn't be able to see it in cloudy weather conditions. A new lighthouse was since built in 1919, situated at a much lower altitude.
