At 4,167m, Mount Toubkal is the highest mountain in North Africa. The hike to the summit is challenging, but it requires no mountaineering experience and the panoramic view from his summit makes the hard work worthwhile. Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Refuge Toubkal : After a transfer to the little village of Imlil we begin our trek. Heading along the Maizane Valley, we first pass the village of Armed and then onto the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. We then continue east and by crossing the flood plains our route takes us along mule tracks and up into the high rocky cliffs above the valley. Day 2: Refuge Toubkal – Toubkal Summit – Imlil – Marrakech : Early in the morning we make our attempt on the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. Our route takes us up the south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. The walking is relatively straightforward, but the screwy and the altitude will make the going quite difficult in parts.

Salita al Monte Toubkal (4.167 m) e ritorno a Imlil*****. Sveglia molto presto, di solito tra le 4 e le 5 del mattino, per una colazione energetica prima di iniziare la scalata della **più alta vetta del Nord Africa**. La salita è piuttosto impegnativa dal punto di vista fisico e richiede circa 3 o 4 ore** a seconda del passo. Il sentiero si snoda tra ghiaioni e passaggi rocciosi, ma senza grandi difficoltà tecniche con tempo asciutto. Una volta raggiunta la **cima del Monte Toubkal**, sarete ricompensati con una spettacolare vista a 360° sulle montagne dell'Atlante, sulle pianure circostanti e, nelle giornate limpide, fino al deserto del Sahara. Dopo un momento di riposo e contemplazione in vetta, inizierete la discesa verso il rifugio dove vi aspetta un **pranzo**. Nel pomeriggio, si ridiscende a **Imlil**, che si raggiunge dopo altre **4-5 ore di cammino**.
