Today it is not uncommon, thanks to the conservation program “projeto carnívoro”, aimed at preserving endangered predators, that the number of jaguars has increased significantly and they are often sighted in the parks. The Fauna&Flora of Iguassu is home to over 76 mammals such as the tapir, the largest mammal in South America, pumas, capuchin monkeys, over 400 species of birds such as toucans, parrots and hummingbirds, and thousands of flowering plants such as orchids and helicônias.
